Locanda De Gusti’s chocolate menu in honour of Chocolate Week 8th-14th October

Chocolate Week which runs from 8th-14th October promotes fine flavour chocolate, celebrating the work of top chocolatiers and chocolate companies.

To celebrate Chocolate Week 2012 traditional Italian restaurant Locanda De Gusti (remember my recent rave review?!)  in Edinburgh have designed a special Chocolate menu, ‘Chocolate @ Locanda’  which will be available at the restaurant from 8th-13th October  with a three course menu for £23.50 per head.

Sliced chocolate & almond “salami” served with a chocolate gianduia liqueur

The specially created menu by award-winning Head Chef Rosario Sartore who has been awarded the coveted two AA Rosette’s for his Culinary Excellence at Locanda De Gusti is as follows:

Starter

Ravioli al cioccolato in salsa agli agrumi

Ravioli filled with chocolate served with a butter and citrus zest sauce

Main course

Baci di coda di rospo bardaticon crudo e affogati al cioccolato fondente

Bite size monk fish wrapped with Parma ham shallow fried then dipped in dark chocolate

Served on a base of puréed aubergine

Dessert

Salame al cioccolato

Sliced “salami” chocolate and almond dusted with cacao and icing sugar

Served with a chocolate gianduia liqueur
