Cindy’s Deep Sleep Tea – Product Review

I often have trouble sleeping – I have one of those minds that seems to like to do it’s thinking in the early hours, that, coupled with the exceptionally short days just now, means that at this time of year in particular, I can be quite exhausted.

I’ve tried many different sleep remedies including special ‘sleepy’ teas, herbal drops and drugs (not of the recreational variety!) with mixed success so when I met Cindy Ledgerwood, an Edinburgh-based medical herbalist, at The Royal Highland Show this year I wasn’t holding out too much for her ‘Deep Sleep’ loose leaf tea but I liked her and the lovely packaging so didn’t have anything to lose and bought some.

OMG, this tea is AMAZING! I woke up in the morning after I’d first used it to find that I’d fallen asleep with my kindle in my hand and before setting my alarm. Thankfully I wasn’t late but this was darn near miraculous and has never happened before. The next night was a similar story, again I fell asleep before I’d set my alarm and slept right through until the morning.

I’ve used it every night since, along with an eye mask, and I’ve been sleeping better than I ever have. The blend of lemon balm, mint, chamomile, linden, rose, lavender and valerian has a very mild taste which belies the incredible effects. I can’t recommend this tea highly enough. Not only that but it’s quite economical as just 1 teaspoon of the loose leaf is enough to bring Mr Sandman out of his burrow.

Now I just need to go and try some of her other flavours as well!

Cindy’s Tea has just been rebranded (formerly Miss IntegriTea ) so, along with the lovely new packaging, there’s also a new website to follow.

Sorry Ros, you can definitely buy it online and I think it may also be stocked in Cranachan & Crowdie on the Royal Mile – link to the website is at the bottom of the post. Looks like a few folks hunting this down now 🙂
