Peebles-based UK World Chocolate Master Ruth Hinks on TV from Monday

We’re doing well in The Borders just now, what with Chef Ally McGrath’s recent appearance on Great British Menu (he actually visited Ruth on the show to be shown how to temper chocolate for his dessert), we now have UK World Chocolate Master Ruth Hinks and her team at the Cocoa Black chocolate factory in Peebles featuring in a forthcoming BBC series, The River.

Due to be broadcast on BBC1 over six weeks starting on Monday 7th November 2016, the new series charts the daily lives of those who live and work along the Tweed Valley in the Scottish Borders.  The BBC crew were on site at Cocoa Black between April and August this year. During this busy period, they followed Ruth as she balances the daily challenges of growing an internationally renowned chocolate business with family life.  Highlights during the filming period include the opening of The Chocolate & Pastry School by HRH Prince Edward and a surprise visit by Mum and Dad from Tasmania, Australia.
