Ma Mukherjee’s White Curry – super tasty, quick & easy recipe

This amazingly simple & tasty recipe comes courtesy of Bees, my ‘South East Asian Correspondent’. Living in Singapore the past couple of years she’s picked up a lot of great new recipes, some of which she’ll be sharing for our delight & delectation. Ma Mukherjee’s White Chicken Curry I (accidentally) marinaded the chicken (I used thighs) […]

A working week and eating out (every day!) while on a diet! (how do you think I did?)

Well folks, this is a blog on last week’s lunches out! It started so well and I went for the ‘good’ options but it completely went to pot on Weds when I was seduced by a cheeky creme brulee! Monday – Kyloe, The Rutland (not bad – rump steak burger, no bun & salad, no […]

Guchhi – Indian Seafood Restaurant, Leith (one very classy joint!)

Guchhi surprised and impressed us on every level, incredibly well thought out and the most delicious fusions, it really was the most delightful assault on my taste buds! Our waiter was highly engaging and the decor elegant. A new favourite, I won’t be hesitating to recommend it and will definitely be going back myself. (very soon too I suspect!) and I think is a cautious 9/10. (We were the only diners and although that didn’t in the slightest detract from the experience it would be interesting to see the quality and service when the kitchen and staff are under more pressure.)

Everest Nepalese? yes please!

To summarise, I can see why Andy Robinson (Scotland Rugby Coach) is a fan of this restaurant, the staff were sincere, the service excellent, the food delightful, nice touches such as cloth napkins/tablecloths AND they know how to do a double door!

A night chez Ignite

Summary: A thoroughly enjoyable eating experience, plentiful portions, extensive menu and reasonable prices. If there is any real room for improvement it would be the dessert menu, it would have been lovely to see some Indian sweets made on the premises rather than a list of frozen staples (not that we had any room left!).
